Hi Catie! Happy Sunday! We are in Boston visiting our daughter Michele. Yesterday Michele treated us to lunch at the HUB which is at the top of the Prudential building. Wow! You can see for miles up there on the 52nd floor! Then we took a tour...and guess what? They have a chapel in the Pru building and they had Mass at 4PM - we decided to stay for Mass there - AND they had candles for us to light for you! And guess what else, this afternoon we walked by the Old North Church - Michele says, "mom, look up".....there, so high in the sky was the most beautiful orange and black LARGE butterfly - I don't ever remember seeing a butterfly that large OR flying that high! I stopped and prayed for you and I didn't move or stop praying for you specifically at that moment until it was out of sight. We have been having a lot of fun here with Michele and thanking God for every moment - every minute has been special. We took a tour of Fenway Park this morning - that is where the Boston Red Sox play. That was very interesting! So....I guess we'll be cheering for the Sox tomorrow. : ) Last night we gathered with other Penn Staters to watch the football game and we were so excited that Penn State won! Tonight we are sitting here watching the Phillies ...and they are not doing as well as Penn State did. So, I just whispered that little prayer that I shared with you that Sr. Cynthia taught me... Hail Mary full of grace, please put a win in the Philies' face. Amen. Have a good night dear! We never, ever stop praying for you. love, sylvia
Hi, Catie! How are you doing? We miss you at school and hope to see you there soon. We started reading to dogs in class. The dog I read to is "Mack". Take care of yourself and I'll keep you in my good night prayers. Aaron Coleman
Hi Catie, I just wanted to drop to the webpage to say hello. Missing you dearling and hope you are feeling better soon. Love Gemma ;)
Hi Catie ~ Just wanted you to know I think and pray for you daily - I have not taken off the "Caties Team" bracelet you gave me on our visit. I am going to a Bible Study with the Sisters of St. Joseph at Holy Name this morning and you will be on our praying petition. Stay Strong Catie - You are in Inspiration to all!! May God wrap his loving arms around you at all times ~~~ Love Peggy (Make A Wish) :roll
Hi Catie! (Christine and Kevin), Thinking about you and praying for all of you always. I loved how your Mom painted the windows in your room. They look great! We have a lot of Wii games here. Let me know if you'd like some others to try and beat Mom at. We love you and are so proud of you! -Aunt MaryBeth, Uncle Geoff, Tyler, Troy and Brett
Sooo... I think I might have to invest in a wii so I can get good and challenge you to a few games when you come home! I'm sure you would be victorious but hopefully I will have practiced enough to be a good opponent! :)
Hi Catie ( and Mom and Dad too) Just wanted to say " hi" and let you know that I'm thinking about you all this morning. I am going to have your Mom send me your new address in Memphis because I have a package ready to mail to you. I know how much fun it is to get mail, so look for some from me soon. Love, Mrs. Gilbreth ;)
Hi beautiful Catie We are thinking of you today and praying that the bone marrow transplant goes as well as it can. It is a balmy 80 degrees here in Virginia and we are enjoying it! Unlce Saj, Cole and Alessandra asked that I send you their love. May God bless you, and with big hugs, Aunt Marissa, Unlce Saj and Cole and Alessandra
Hi Catie! Sorry about the rain and chilly air that we are having here in Memphis, but we really do need some rain. I am about 10 miles east of where you are staying, and the leaves on our trees are just starting to fall. Hope you can see the leaves out of your windows. At the elementary school, your cute photo is posted on the wall in the main office, and people ask about you a lot. My son, Lucas, is doing homework, and he says "hello" and hopes you are feeling OK. Lots of hugs, Ellen Skinner
Luv ya too Catie! Sounds like Dad's mashed potatoes were so yummy! Glad you are back at Target House. Christine and Kevin--please give Catie a big hug from me. Luv ya lots and lots, Aunt Marissa
Hi Catie, You don't know us but we live in Mechanicsburg and Bella is in the same class as your sister Mia. Bella has a sister who is 4 years old and her name is Gemma. We are happy that you are enjoying mashed potatoes. Gemma doesn't like mashed potatoes and says you should try some cheesey mac n cheese. (Her favorite). Bella wanted to know if you like High School Musical because HSM 3 is coming out next week. They love the music and they especially love Troy. (Gemma wanted to be Troy for Halloween but thankfully decided to be a mermaid instead). Anyway, you are always in our prayers. God Bless you and your Superhero parents. P.S. Watch out for wagons. Have a peaceful day. Sincerely, Pykosh Family
Hi Catie, I've been home with a fever this week and I'm going to the doctor today. Kyle was the ONLY kid on the bus on Monday and he got home really fast!! He said it was weird being the only one on the bus. Ma is acting crazy agaain - she is funny! I hope you are feeling better. I like mashed potatoes too! Jaime
I meant to say Mia not "Ma"! My Mom is a little crazy too though. Jaime
Dearest Catie I have been reading your 'story' every time your mom or dad sends one and I am always amazed at all of your courage - surely God is with all of you. I was at the St. James party for you and it was so great to see you in person and to see all of your *** family together. I talked to Megan as I signed your guest book and you are very lucky to have such a smart and wonderful sister. I think her smile is just like yours- radiant (and she was very serious about all of us making sure WE signed it correctly- some of us are not as smart as her). As far as the mash potatoes go, I am wondering if you love them because you are Irish (Mr. Tansey is and he can never get enough of them!). Do you know the song "Mash Potatoes"..it is such a fun song...and I will think of you whenever I play my oldies but goodies. You may know this already, but your name went to Lourdes in France where Our Lady appeared to children..many miracles happened and are still happening there. I am so taken with your love circle and how you give it out freely and it keeps coming back, but you make your love circle bigger and bigger- I can feel your love everytime I read your story. Your parents are surely blessed to have you. We just had our first granddaughter - her name is Cathreen and she is 5 days old..she wears a pink knitted hat with a little bow someone made for her at the hospital - hats make the outfits - right? Have a wonderful day and weekend...Love, Mrs. Tansey :roll
Hi Catie! Glad to hear you are feeling well and are back in your home base at Target house! I will have to find some cool mail and send it to you so you don't have any more "no mail" days! When my friend was being treated for cancer at John Hopkins, I sent her a card - EVERYDAY she was there- that was 65 cards! Hahah! Mail Man Mike at PSU knew me by name and started to write Chrissy funny notes on her envelopes! Tomorrow (Saturday) I head (and so does Mrs. Hodges!) to the big PSU game! I am meeting up with lots of old friends since it is homecoming - one of my friends Jenny has been keeping up on your website and praying for you daily. She and I proudly wear our gold ribbons on our jackets everyday. I will get to see Jenny for the first time in two years tomorrow, and she just told me on the phone she wants your latest update since she is without a computer this evening in her penn state hotel. I can't wait to share with her your great day! (minus the wagon incident!). We think you are PHENOMENAL!!! So have a good weekend! GO CATIE!!!! Play some Wii! ;-) (bowling is my favorite too!!!!)
Hi Catie, My name is Joey. I am in first grade this year. I hope you feel better soon. We
Hi Catie, My name is Matt and I am four years old. I hope you feel better soon. I like your painted windows. Can you teach me how to bowl on the Wii someday? My favorite color is green. What is yours? My favorite food is blueberries. My favorite animal is a penguin and my favorite sport is football. We will keep praying for you and will light a candle for you. Your friend, matt :)
Hi Katie -- Good morning from Clarks Summit, PA. I am Marissa's sister-in-law...I am married to her brother Jimmy. I just wanted to let you know I was thinking about you and praying that you have a great week. We are going to Marissa's house down in Virginia later this week for a couple days. My two kiddos, Isabella (5 years old) and Domenic (turning 2 on Thanksgiving) love spending time with their Cousins Cole and Alessandra. Please tell your mom and dad we all say "hi". Love, Leslie, Jimmy, Isabella and Domenic
Hi Catie, I don't know if you remember us, but hopefully your mommy will. We belong to St. Al's and met your fabulous family one day while entering the church for mass. We have 4 children in our family - Michael, Molly, Max and Megan - so all M's just like your family!! That is actually how we ended up meeting - your mommy heard me say, "Molly" to my daughter. Anyway, we heard about your very brave fight at St. Al's back in September and have been following your story ever since. We include you and your family in our prayers each night. You are a very brave and inspiring girl! Keep up the great work Catie and remember to show your *** SMILE! Praying, Marisa and Tom Neeson and the 4 M's
Hi Catie!! We just wanted to let you know how much we miss you!! On Friday, Abby jumped off the school bus in such excitement because she got Maggie as her study buddy!! I hope that she behaves herself during study time!!!! On Saturday, the girls went to Color Me Mine for a birthday party!! They really enjoyed painting the pottery plates and now they want to go back again to make other things!! I told them that you really enjoyed painting pottery also!! We enjoyed looking at the pictures of your room that your Mom decorated.. She is really artistic!!! We were thinking of you on Columbus Day Weekend because we were in LBI.. we were wondering if you have been to the 5 and 10 store.. WE love that store!! Lots of love and prayers, The Azizkhan Family
Hello Catie, Just finished my homework and was thinking of you! I miss you! The leafs are turning colors and falling off the trees here. My sister Sydney and I had fun running and jumping in the leafs. This weekend my family and I are traveling to Georgea to visit my uncle, and cousins. My Uncle Stevie is being deployed to Irac. We are going to see him before he goes away. I can't wait to see you!! love Hannah
Hi Catie! Happy Tuesday! I have a very special favor to ask all of YOUR prayer warriors. Ryan Stralo went to St. Thomas More, Central Catholic, and even Penn State with our Meghan - he and his wife Aubrey were expecting their baby boy in February, but last Thursday baby Kole Parker Stralo decided he didn't want to wait that long. I would like to ask everyone to please pray for baby Kole. He is 13" long and he does not yet weigh 2lbs. I went to visit with his grandparents last night and they showed me pictures of Kole. He is absolutely beautiful! Blonde hair and eyebrows! The priest did come to Baptize baby Kole. I feel with all of our prayers he will get stronger every day. He is at Women's and Babies hospital in Lancaster. And would you believe that the friend of someone in our prayer chain was the nurse who rode in the ambulance with him! God is so good...all the time. Thank you so much for praying. I hope you had a good day today Catie! We are all still recovering from that Penn State game when they beat Michigan on Saturday. Michele drove through the night from Boston - arrived at the back door at 3AM - she showered, and then we tossed her in the van to head out to Happy Valley. Meghan drove up from DC but had to stop in Maryland to meet uncle Michael to get the chili. His chili is pretty famous with all the college kids... and Michael wasn't able to come to the game because cousin Sara was so sick - I called aunt Debbie in a panic - I needed that recipe!!! And she said "don't worry, I already have it made and Michael will meet up with Meghan at 5AM so that you'll have it for the tailgate". Wow! Yes, God is good to have such special people on this earth! We had a lot of fun with all the kids who came back for Penn State's Homecoming - and when they won - well that was even more special. Actually, I don't even understand football Catie...my favorite part is feeding all the kids before and after the game! : ) Well I better get to bed. I am sending you lots and lots of hugs! I hope you have a good day tomorrow. Love, Sylvia Oh, I forgot to tell you another little story - my uncle Herman is very sick - he wanted to move from his home to assisted living (we want him to come to our home but can't convince him!!!) - well when we walked in to the room - guess what was on his windowsill? A beautifully painted metal butterfly bookmark! I thought of you right away! ...and of course said a little prayer. xoxo
Catie, I'm sure you have many people telling you what an inspiration you are. You are an inspiration to me personally, you and your whole family. You are handling this rollercoaster time in your life admirably. From the updates I read daily, I notice you are strapped in and sometimes hanging on with faith in God! So important! Thank you for being a testamony of faith in our glorious God. Rachel, Mike and I keep you continually in our prayers. We love you and look forward to seeing you! May the peace of our Lord we with you always. Love, Cousin Katy
Hi Catie! I just realized that I spelled baby Cole's name incorrectly - it's with a C, not a K....I bet that sometimes people make that mistake with your name too. So I thought it best that I correct it! : ) I first met Brett Weber and his helper dog Sophia at the Good Shepherd Rehab Center where my brother spent a lot of time after his accident. Brett's dad is the principal at St. Thomas More School. Brett wrote a story about Sophia for the children at St. Thomas - it's pretty neat - so I e-mailed him and asked if he would send a copy to me to share with you. He said he would be honored to have you proofread his draft! I hope that you will enjoy the story. You may have to "copy and paste" the link from here. Have a good night sweetie! And GREAT job with those calories!!! WE ARE PROUD OF YOU, SAY WE ARE PROUD OF YOU!!! love, sylvia
Silly me! I forgot to paste the link in the previous message...here it is: http://www.brokenartgallery.com/Sophia%27sTale2%20-%20FINAL.pdf
Hey Catie! So I just added your candle to the map and it was the 199th!! Wow! Almost TWO HUNDRED candles! That's a LOT of people praying and lighting candles for you. I sent you a picture text message the other day- did I ever teach you how to check those? If you have your phone, text me. Everyone says hi and we love you!
