Our thoughts and prayers continue to go out to your family as you adjust to life without Catie's physical presence. I'm sure she's still with you, and is watching over you until you are reunited in heaven. Thank you for sharing her inspirational story. I'm sorry you didn't get the miracle you were hoping for - but I hope you are constantly reminded of all the others that happened instead. What a brave and special little girl, to have touched so many lives in such a short amount of time! May God bless you all and hold you in the palm of His hand as you move forward.

Christine, Kevin, and Kids-- My heart goes out to all of you upon learning of Catie's passing. I have had the fortune to be a witness to Catie's journey thanks to your daily updates. You are such a loving and strong family. You've given so much of yourself, not only in support of Catie, but to all of us who you've shared her/your story with. I know that your faith will bring you great peace. Catie is indeed in a better place. Catie has had such a great impact on so many through her courageous battle. Some people live 80 years and can't quantify their impact on the world and the people around them. In the nearly 8 years that Catie shared her spirit with you all and others, I believe she lived multiple lifetimes. She will live forever through all the people she has impacted. This I am sure of. If there is anything, anything at all, I can do for you all -- never hesitate to ask. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

Dear O'Brien Family, I am so sorry to hear the loss of such a wonderful gift, Catie. I know for a fact that Catie went straight up to heaven and is watching over us right now. I feel so honored to have known such a wonderful child. Every Malvern Family Retreat with the O'Brien kids was like a weekend of fun. They always suprised me with new crafts and funny jokes. Although Catie has passed, i see that bright kilowatt smile on every one of the sensational six faces. Catie will always be in my heart and the hearts of many. May God bless you, O'Brien Family, and turn your tears of sorrow to tears of joy and happiness. Catie soul has not left, we can all feel the warmth of her presence around each of us. I now know i have a new angel to pray to. Sincerly, Kristin McGrath

Dear O'Brian Family, I am deeply sorry for your loss. In a way this is a bitter sweet thing. Bitter because she is not with us anymore, sweet because she's home with God and will be safe forever. I lost an old friend to cancer and I know how hard its been. I have also lost my cousin. I can relate. I just want you to know how deeply sorry I truely am. I wish there was something I could do. Catie inspired me to do so much and to live my life to the absolute fullest. My basketball team has dedicated our past game to Catie and we hope she enjoyed it. Remember that you will always have a special, perfect, beautiful, little angel watching over you now and forever more, until you are re-united with her in Heaven. -Annoymous-

Dear Christine, Kevin, Maggie, Max, Mia, Molly and M.E. You and Catie have been in my thoughts this entire weekend and my heart goes out to you all at this very sad time. It has been an honor to share this journey with you and I have loved getting to know each and every one of you. I hope in some small way that I helped to brighten yours and Catie's days. It was fun to send her packages and I know I will always think of Catie every time I see An American Girl doll or book! And, I will always cherish the St. Jude heart ornament from Catie which will hang in a special spot on my tree every year. While some of us only knew Catie for a short time, you were so lucky to have this special angel with you for almost 8 years. I know she is now watching over you all , no longer in pain and with that sweet smile of hers. Love, Pat

Hi Catie's familiy. Our family is praying for your family during this sorrowful time. We will miss Catie and her story. We drew so much strength from this little angel and the love she shared. We also want to thank you for your faith filled witness to the Catholic faith. It was so pure and so truthful. Our calendar shows that January 25th is the feast day of the Conversion of Saint Paul, the Apostle. It is also the year of St. Paul. I was just pondering how fitting it is that the Lord should call Catie home on this day. Her story has brought so many people closer to God. If her story is published (I did hear that someone has contacted a publisher already) she'll continue to bring more people to God. What a legacy. What a little saint........... God bless you all ... As my heart aches and the tears flow, I know Catie is in God's embrace and cancer free. I know our loving God, Catie and Gianna will be with you always and will give you all the love, strength and peace you need. I can only imagine how beautiful heaven is each time our precious Lord brings one of his children home. You all in my thoughts and prayers.

I'm so sorry for your loss. Catie is truly looking down on all of you from heaven as she smiles, sings and dances with the angels. She is with her family that went before her and her sister, completely pain free, and awaiting the day when she can be reunited with each of you. God bless you for sharing Catie's Story. What a difference she has made for so many people. How many people can claim that over the course of their entire lives? You will be in my prayers.

Dear Christine, Kevin, and Fab 5: May the Lord give you the strength to bear the cross he is asking you to carry .... May your tears of love purify you and help you to be grateful to God for the greatness of the gift of Catie. I just want you to know that all the students, faculty and staff at Waldron Mercy Academy have been praying for Catie and all of you. Today we prayed over the loud speaker very especially for you since Catie is fully ALIVE, while you are still growing in the Mystery. My love and continued prayers. Sister Kathleen Anne McKee, RSM

As little Sydney sported her "turquoise" hat to church on Sunday in remembrance of Catie, we could feel Catie smiling down upon us from up above. She will always be a wonderful inspiration. May you find peace and comfort in knowing how many people she has touched. Heaven has gained a beautiful angel. We love you very much and your family is in our thoughts and prayers.

I never had the honor to meet Catie or anyone from your family. I work for Pepsi in West Virginia and was visiting with Rite Aid (Mary Chema, Dianne Mummart and Michael Thompson) 2 weeks ago. At lunch, they shared Catie's story. I went to the website that night and read each day's entry. So moved by her story, it was the first thing I did when I arrived at work. In this crazy world we live in, where we 'sweat the small things', I cannot count the numerous times her story came to mind throughout my day. When things were stressful, I found myself thinking of Catie and saying a prayer for her. Your story is and will always be a reminder to me of God's presence in my life and others. In the end it really doesn't matter the hours your work, the promotions you get.......it's the stories that touch your life and remind you of what really is important. I began to share Catie's story with others in the office. We spoke of her at lunch, at the copier and in passing. From the moment I read Day 1 of your story....I kept thinking "this needs to be published." I just wanted you to know how Catie's story has touched the lives of so many.....even in Charleston, WV. We continue to pray for you and your wonderful family. We know God will continue to bless you as parents and your beautiful children.
