Catie, I learned about you from another St. Jude family. What started with one little girl name Kayla and our support for her grew into support for Mary Kate then Elizabeth and you. I have introduced my children to all of your stories. You are all in our prayers and all of you are in our hearts. Catie you inspire me to be a better person and to see the beauty and gift that God sets before us everyday. Sometimes as people grow up they lose that gift, but your grace and strength have helped bring that back to me. Thank You. God Bless You and your family

Good morning O'Briens! Happy Saturday! Have fun at the birthday party today. Wow Christine, I am amazed - thank you for the update - we never stop praying. I am so excited for your trip to Lourdes - do you know that January 7th is the Orthodox Christmas? Victor's family is of the Orthodox faith...so on January 6th we have Christmas Eve with Holy Supper at Victor's dad's home - sometimes there are 50 of us! Before Victor's mom passed away, she would make all of the pierogies herself - since her passing all of the girls, including our five young cousins from CT, and cousin Sara from Maryland, get together the Sat. after Thanksgiving at cousin Jeannie's home to make the pierogies....it sure makes us appreciate all that mother Pituch did!!! We have pierogies, mushroom soup, bobalkie (little dough balls dipped in honey), and fish for Holy Supper. It really is a special time. Then we go to church on January 7th and I will ask the priest to pray a special prayer for safe travel for your family. So glad everyone is back under one roof and that things are going "relatively" smoothly. Have a beautiful day! love, sylvia xoxo

Peace be with you, dear O'Briens! Glad you're all home together again, safe and sound. My little, brave "Saint" Catie. Each morning around 8:00 I gently "zap" your picture in my Catie Shrine with Lourdes water. How beautiful to be going to Lourdes! Will be praying for you on your very special Christmas Day--what a Gift you will receive--JESUS HIMSELF! I can't wait to see pictures of you in your special dress. Lots of love to you and all your family, Marthe

Hello O'Briens - I have not met you, but feel I know you well through your truly beautiful and inspirational Catie's Updates. Catie, I know your grandfather Closkey through my work at Villanova University - he included me in the forwarded emails in June (right after his 50th reunion)...and my husband Bill, son Will (6-years old) and I have been praying for you every night since. I also know your uncle Sean a little bit and there's another connection as well - your aunt Kathleen works at the high school where I went, and my niece Jackie Arnold just graduated from there too! So the Holy Spirit is definitely at work to connect us! I have thought about signing this guestbook so many times and did not, as I didn't want to unnecessarily intrude in your lives. But the Holy Spirit moved me to write to you tonight and say a big THANK YOU for your inspiration - to be strong, to remember that God has a plan for all of us and, most importantly -- to hug and cherish and be present with those we love, at all times. We all have challenges in our lives and your wonderful example of handling those challenges with grace (and God's grace) has really meant a lot to me. Enjoy your First Communion, Christmas, Lourdes and all the wonderful times with your family and friends!

It's good to know you are all home together. You family sounds like something from a Karen Kingsbury novel-A very christian-loving family. God must be so proud of you all. I know the girls are looking forward to seeing France. My thoughts and prayers continue that Catie is blessed with miracles from our heavenly Father.

We are praying that Catie has the energy to make it through the school Christmas shows today. We keep hearing from our 1st grade daughter what a great singer Catie is and that the 2nd grade class sings the best because of her. We also hope that there has been time to get the Santa list together in all the busyness. Finally, I see that you (as the rest of us) are praying for a miracle. I believe technically, we are actually praying for ANOTHER miracle. All that the experiences of a seven year old have done to teach and inspire so many about life is its own little miracle. lots of love and prayers for all the O'Briens.

It was wonderful to see you together again at Mass and at the Christmas Program at St. Joes. We have been following your story and are praying for a miracle along with you. Thank you for sharing your journey and for inspiring so many in our community and beyond. Not many people are able to touch so many lives the way Catie has!

Catie, it was so wonderful to see you and your siblings singing tonight in the Christmas Program! You are such a FABULOUS singer and your smile makes my day! I LOVE music like you - and I think of life as a musical! Everytime something happens in my day- a little song runs through my head... you know what song runs through my head everytime I read about your day or see you in church? "You are my sunshine!" because your smile is God smiling down on all of us! Enjoy these next crazy days at school! Its the time of year for smiles, beautiful sights, and the miracle of life!

Dear O'Brien Clan, We just wanted you to know that you are in our thoughts daily. Brayden and I were so upset that we missed you and wandered D clinic daily looking for you. We are so happy that you are together as a family for the Holidays. Is South Carolina for Christmas still in the plans? Catie, you continue to inspire me as a person, as a mom and also as a daughter and a wife. Christine, you inspire me with your *** faith. I thank god that we were sitting in the cafeteria at St. Jude's that day. I will never forget it. I believe that we are supposed to have certain people in our lives and feel so grateful that he chose to intertwine our lives and paths during this struggle. Love, The Rydell family Bob, Brenda, Brayden, Brynnan and Blair

Dear Catie: I was delighted to share in a brief visit with you and your parents prior to the concert the other evening. I am Kim Lane's dad. I want to assure you and your family that all of the 5,500 families at St. Tim's Catholic Church in Chantilly, Virginia are diligently praying for your cause. I also wish to convey to your marvelous parents that many wonderful folks in this area have heard about your story and are most willing to be of assistance in any way, as needed. Please be assured of my prayers and those of my Bride for both you and your family. May the Lord bless and keep you in His loving care, always, and in all ways. Lovingly in Christ, Dr. and Mrs. David E. Conroy, Deacon

I have just today been redirected to your website. Christine, you would be crazy to remember me, but I met you and Catie on the Target House shuttle this summer shortly after you arrived in Memphis. I sat behind you, and I distinctly remember the charm in Catie's eyes and have been pestered by this "familiar person" in the St. Jude/Jason Taylor commercial, until I finally put everything together. This morning before work, I found your website, and got updated on your current situation. I remember your telling me that your doctor emailed you and prayed for you before you made the trip down South. What an awesome thought to know that someone is there before you with a plan. I believe strongly, as does your family, that God is before us with a plan. I pray that plan is for healing. I believe that we disappoint God when we do not come to Him with our bold prayers, for that shows Him that we believe he can do anything - so we pray boldly for Catie. I will continue to follow your journey and lift up your family and children daily. My favorite verse: Joshua 1:9 . . . "Do not be afraid, for I am with you wherever you go." God Bless you.

Dear Catie & family: Mary Kate's mother, Regina, wrote about you and just wanted to drop in for a moment. I'm praying that you and your dear family will and have been feeling our Lord's closeness to you. Yes, He does stay close even, or especially, when we are in the valley. Psalms 23. Sending love, prayers and best wishes, Claudette

Hi Catie! Remember we told you about the Love Light Tree at St. Columbkill Church and how we weren't using an artificial tree this year but a real evergreen from our very own yard? Well we were supposed to cut it down yesterday but due to the ice storm we were unable to do so. This morning our Uncle Bob cut it down for us and tomorrow we will be decorating the church. We have several friends helping us to lug it to church tomorrow and God-willing, stand it up! It's really, really tall and will be quite a challenge. But as promised, we will be placing your Love Light dove high up on the tree in a place of honor. :p Then, as you know, the tree stays up until Epiphany and meanwhile, the whole church will be praying for all the intentions represented by the doves on the tree. We are so happy you will be receiving your First Communion on Christmas. How wonderful to receive Jesus for the very first time on such a special day. We will be thinking of you & praying for you of course, as we do every day. Love Ryan and Brent P.S. We visited Fr. Keith at St. Jane's today and lit a candle for you. :)
